Had yet another delicious breakfast – egg casserole, made w/ eggs brought from the chicken coop this morning. Wow, there is a BIG difference in really, really fresh eggs and the store-bought ones.

Today was the day for us to travel without Buddy. Kate and Ron again graciously offered to watch him while we drove into Mystic to visit the Aquarium and Seaport.

Our neighbor, Mike, told us that the Aquarium wasn’t the greatest one he’d seen, that it was more of a research facility.  However, we were quite impressed. That had a process to convert city water into Amazon water to suQstain the rainforest critters. We saw some sea life that we’d never seen before (and we’ve been to aquariums all over the country). Had a really cool batcave!

Seaport had recreation of a 19th century village, local shops, pub, watch repair, etc, with curators inside giving a brief history of their particular shop (like Old Salem, NC or Williamsburg, VA). Went on a couple of anchored antique boats as well.

Then we headed off to Stonington Vineyard, only about 15 minutes north of Mystic. For $5 each, we had a wine tasting of their 7 wines and got to keep the
Stonington-etched glass. I ended up buying a case for us and for gifts. Got 10% off and a free full glass of Rosé. Also, on our next visit, we’ll get 15% off a case and free wine tastings.

When we returned to the B&B, all 3 dogs were tuckered in the yard. They’d played all day.  I still don’t think Buddy’s recovered from all the activity.
