I love our building - 10.24.07

We really live in a great building. We have a 24-hr secure parking space out back, trees, front yard, view of sunrise over Central Park and sunset over Riverside, and great people.  I have my massage therapist upstairs, neighbors who we hang out w/ frequently (esp for dog walks) and a great gym and yoga studio.  I usually go to Sunday yoga from 11-12:30. It's an intense workout. Instructor is super fit -- she literally contorts my body to insane positions.

Well, neighbor, Caroline who introduced me to Scott (*sigh), has a friend who started teaching Kundalini Yoga on Tuesday nights in the building studio from 5:45-7pm.  It was amazing. Betsy, the instructor, thought I'd been doing this for awhile since I was such a natural.

Completely different technique -- Sunday one is much more muscle toning, while Kundalini is much more about internal organs... opening the lungs, elongating the spine, improving digestion.

Love the complimentary nature of the 2 methods.

However, one freaky thing did happen in the building yesterday. Was going to walk Buddy and it was almost 80 degrees out, so I wore a tank top. Back was itching, so while waiting for the elevator, I rubbed my back against the textured hallway wall. Get on elevator and some random woman starts scratching my back. Her daughter embarrassingly said, "mom, stop touching her." mom responded, "well, her back obviously needs scratching."  As much as I appreciate the gesture, I really don't like strangers touching me in a sealed small space. People bump into me all the time walking down the street, but I can escape then.

Back to painting. I will never finish. However, it has given me the chance to do extensive cleaning. Having to move remove everything has forced me to do a super cleaning.
